So far the day had been fairly lazy but Sean didn't mind that at all. After he'd gotten the stitches pulled out and gone back to work Sean had been taking it easy. His boss had him working in the shop more than at the stall, which Sean didn't mind. Especially when he could skip being at the shop and stay at home do draw up designs. Or like today, stay over at Gerry's. He had his sketch pad resting on his lap and was watching as Gerry moved around in the kitchen. Gerry glanced over at Sean and caught him watching. He stopped what he was doing and grinned, "What? It can't be that interesting watching me making a pot of tea?"
( It's always interesting watching you... ) |

Passing over a bill for the cab ride Sean stepped out and looked at the front of Gerry's place. He still wasn't quite sure how he'd managed to keep his boyfriend from going back to the doctor with him to get the stitches removed but he had. Which was why Sean came bearing a bag of Gerry's favorite chocolate muffins from the place near the park. Tapping the bag against his leg Sean walked up to the door and rung the bell, idly stretching his arm out while he waited. ( You got something for me Bean? ) |

[Crossposted to bean_quarter, viggo_q and gerard_quarter] Sean swore under his breath as he tightened the last bolt connecting the top of what was going to be his boss's engraving unit to the base. Ever since the man had started feeling well enough to sell their new products Sean had been working in the shop rather than at the stall. Which was fine with him, for the most part, it gave him more time to do actual work rather then babysitting the goods. The downside was when the old man said he wanted to start offering engraving on site rather then sending a piece back to Sean at the shop and making the customer come back. Personally Sean didn't see the big deal with waiting, but here he was a week after getting told about the idea putting the damn machine together. ( Sean wasn't sure how the next thing happened. ) |

[Cross posted to gerard_quarter and bean_quarter.] [Follows this post.] Gerry smiled at everyone who walked past them and, even though it was 1am, it was New Orleans and the streets were busy so that was a lot of people. He had a kind of nervous energy buzzing around his stomach as he twined his fingers through Sean's, but was trying very hard not to show. Sean tapped the butt of his cigarette to flick off the ash at the tip as he walked with Gerry. After finally deciding to leave the bar Sean had noticed how bouncy Gerry still was. I'm happy. Stroking his thumb against Gerry's palm Sean took another drag off the cigarette. "You don't have to work today do you?" "Day of rest," Gerry grinned and fished in his pocket for his house keys. ( I'm not sure I'd get up if you had to. ) |

[Cross posted to gerry_quarter and bean_quarter.] Gerry threw his battered leather jacket into the booth and slid along the seat careful not to spill his beer. He'd arrived a little late and had half expected to see Sean already propping up the bar so sat watching the door starting to wonder if he'd made a mistake and should have been at Bayou Blues after all. Sean looked at his watch again before grumbling to himself. He didn't know what had made him late, he hadn't been doing all that much during the day, but late he was. When he finally got to the bar he walked in with a larger group and started scanning around the bar, hoping Gerry hadn't given up on him. ( Cutting it close Bean. ) |

[Cross posted to gerard_quarter and bean_quarter.] Sean had managed to get an unexpected day off from the jewelry stall and while there were various things he knew he should be doing Sean was out wandering around the park he'd met Gerry. Since their last hang out Sean had noticed a distinct lack of contact from the other man. Particularly when it had been over a week and he hadn't even gotten a call from Gerry about meeting for lunch. Christ Bean, get used to it and worry when it disappears. Frowning at the thought Sean shook his head and frowned when he'd walked around the edge of the park and hadn't seen any sign of the gardener. Lola saw Sean long before Gerry did and she raced over to the wrought iron fence that surrounded the park bouncing happily and wagging her tail. When Sean saw the waggling dog at the gate he let out a slight breath. Well you weren't too far off in the guessing. Walking over to Lola Sean reached down and scratched her head. "So where's your daddy?" ( What brings you down here? ) |

Sean rubbed at his eyes, grumbling to himself when he realized he hadn't been blinking enough while working on the half finished sketch in his notebook. Rolling onto his side Sean stretched his arms out in front of him and looked at the person he'd been sketching for. Gerry was bent over one of the flowerbeds in his back garden, working with some small hand tools he'd fetched a little earlier. Sean briefly felt bad the other man was working when he'd been lounging around on the lawn most of the afternoon, but then again Gerry was grinning the whole afternoon too.
Looking back at the sketch Sean was happy that it at least he'd gotten a good shape for the pendant and just had to work on doing in some details that would make it more then a plain hunk of silver. Time for a break though. With that thought Sean rolled onto his back and sighed. "You know this isn't that bad."
Gerry looked back over his shoulder and grinned, "Ready to show me?"
( Was commenting on your garden but you're welcome to look... ) |

Gerry walked away from the kiosk with a paper bag and a huge grin. When he got to Sean he held it out and said, "You can't do a market without donuts."
"Donuts?" Sean asked and took the bag that Gerry held out to him. Peeking inside Sean pulled off a piece of the donut. "I'm guessing you have a sweet tooth don't you?"
"I like my food," Gerry chuckled and stuffed half a donut in his mouth then attempted to say. "If it is covered in sugar all the better."
( He was your 'bastard' moment wasn't he? ) |

The sun was already coming through the open curtains when Gerry started to stir. He rolled onto his back and yawned; the realization that he wasn't at home slowly starting to dawn. Instead of the little dog crawling up over the covers to lick his face he heard the gentle snore and snuffle of the man beside him. Tilting his head to watch the sleeping man Gerry wondered how many of Sean's partners were still there in the morning...or more to the point, how many were allowed to stay the night. Might be best if I were gone before he wakes up, Gerry mused and carefully started to sit up.
Sean shifted in his sleep when he felt the bed move. Dimly Sean could tell that there was something different with the bed dipping but couldn't put his finger on it quite yet. Reacting more on instinct then being alert Sean moved closer to the heat next to him.
( Gerry hesitated, not really sure what to do when he felt Sean's skin against his own... ) |

Sean rubbed the back of his neck as he sat at one of the tables in Bayou Blues. Typically he wasn't over in this end of town during this time of the day and it felt weird. Even more so when he'd caught Viggo giving him a few raised eyebrows as he worked behind the bar. Man you're losing it. Pulling out his pack Sean lit one of the cigarettes hoping it would calm some of the nerves he felt seeing Gerry after their run in at the bar. Not like you ended up with another quick fuck. But that really was the problem, wasn't it? "Losing your touch," Sean muttered to himself and blew out a long stream of smoke.
( Talking to yourself Sean? ) |

Turning the corner Sean sighed when he saw the bar that he was supposed to meet Gerry. Considering the day he'd had at work Sean knew meeting up at the pub would be a good place to let off some steam. Ever since his 'boss' had started showing more of an interest in being back at the shop Sean had been a little nervous. Although he wasn't exactly sure why he was nervous, not like he was in risk of losing his job anytime in the near future. Or maybe something else has you nervous? Shaking off the thought Sean stepped into the bar and spotted Gerry at one end of the bar. Making his way through the crowd Sean stepped up behind him, his hand touching Gerry's lower back. "You're a nice sight to see today."
( Expecting a free beer huh? ) |

The sun was already streaming through the window when Gerry stirred. He stretched and turned over to look at the clock groaning at both the time and thump of his head. One night you'll remember how you feel in the morning and stop after a couple of drinks. Hauling himself out of bed he wandered through to the bathroom, emptied his aching bladder and washed his face to make it a little easier to face the day. The living room was still dark as he crossed the floor heading to the kitchen, but Gerry could still make out the sleeping form under the blanket on the couch. He smiled and continued through to the kitchen to put the kettle on.
Sean was dimly aware of movement around him and rolled onto his other side, tugging the blanket up further over his head. When he felt the edge of the couch against his side Sean blinked a few times before remembering where he was. Although the sounds alone; there being sound, was a definite signal he wasn't in his own apartment. Stretching his legs Sean groaned when his joints popped, making it a little easier to ignore the throb in his head.
( Kettle on, Gerry grinned at the little dog and opened the back door... ) |
